Dave Villwock piloted Miss Budweiser to victory in the 50th Indiana Governor's Cup yesterday on the Ohio River in Madison, Ind. Villwock and Miss Bud have won nine consecutive races.

For the third time this season, Villwock and Miss Bud were top qualifiers and won all three heats.

Mark Weber in the U-10 York Heating & Air Conditioning finished second and Mike Hanson in the U-9 Jones Racing was third.

"Last year we were upside down, riding back to the docks with our fins up," said Villwock, who flipped in the 1999 final. "It's a lot better feeling today."

The closest competition came in Heat 2A, when Villwock held off a spirited charge from Hanson, winning by less than five boat lengths.

Other than that, Villwock was unstoppable, powering to tie the late Bill Muncey for most consecutive victories at nine. Villwock's winning speed was 132.801 mph.
